Meet Our Team

Behind every project is a team of thinkers, designers, creatorseach bringing a different strength to the same goal: great design that works.

A Team That Works Together

At Design to Live, we believe great design is a team effort. Our studio is built on collaboration, trust, and a shared commitment to excellence. Every member of our team brings unique strengths, whether it's creative vision, technical detailing, or project coordination, we work together to make sure those strengths shine.

With full administrative support behind the scenes, our designers stay focused on what they do best: delivering high-quality, buildable design. From concept to completion, we communicate openly, support each other, and move as one. It's not just about getting the job done—it's about doing it better, together.

Mitch Lloyd

Founder / Managing Director

Mitch is the Founder and Managing Director of Design to Live. In 2006 Mitch started his studies at UTAS, completing a Bachelor of Environmental Design in 2008 and Master of Architecture in 2010. In 2011 he managed Lloyds Hotel for a year while trying to find a job in the industry—this experience proved to be very beneficial in his later career. At the end of 2011 Mitch gained employment with a local project home company, designing and selling new homes. Being increasingly disgruntled with how the company would treat clients after the design and sales process was completed, Mitch resigned and commenced a Carpentry Apprenticeship with local builder Peter Whatley in 2014 while starting and developing Design to Live. Doing an apprenticeship while starting and servicing a new business was a major challenge for Mitch; however, he was adamant about becoming a builder as well as a designer to fully understand all elements of the process. "If I cannot imagine how a design will be physically put together on site, I won't draw it." After leaving the construction side of the business behind in 2019 to focus on the fruition of the design side of the company, Mitch enjoys working with new and existing clients, assisting them to turn their aspirations into a reality. He puts great value in professional development and constantly trying to better himself and all of the DTL team.

Working with both concrete and steel in a range of projects from large scale to residential, this practical experience with different facets of the building industry brings a lot of versatility to the DTL team. “I really enjoy the personal nature of the design process that Design To Live offers every client, right from the initial design stage to final handover; the client is number 1.”

While working at the firm, he also worked on structural and electrical engineering projects. In 2014, Dyllan moved over to the timber industry with a local frame and truss manufacturer, estimating, detailing, managing, and designing in timber for clients' projects throughout that time. He has gained a wide range of industry and building experience working with builders, engineers, and architects to provide solutions for their clients.

Expanding his education, Billy finished a Certificate IV in Home Energy Efficiency and Sustainability through Education in Building, using this skillset to provide clients with the option for more sustainable and energy-efficient homes. Billy is a passionate building designer who has been in the construction and design industry for over a decade, bringing a broad range of designs and a keen eye for detail and aesthetics to the team.
