This project reimagines two conjoined units as one cohesive, contemporary dwelling that embraces its steeply sloping suburban site. The design focuses on creating a unified form—balancing strong geometric lines with warmth, light, and liveability. What once read as two separate residences has been thoughtfully transformed into a single, harmonious composition that feels deliberate and complete. Externally, the home expresses a confident modern aesthetic through a restrained palette of materials: crisp white render, dark vertical cladding, and warm timber accents. These materials not only define the building’s layered forms but also create a rhythm of contrast and balance. The timber-lined garage doors and entry recess soften the sharpness of the architecture, introducing warmth and texture against the monochrome palette. Carefully landscaped terraces and low retaining walls work with the slope rather than against it, grounding the home comfortably within its setting. The plan reorients the internal flow to connect once-separate spaces into a cohesive living environment. The main living areas are now open and light-filled, designed to draw in natural sunlight while maintaining privacy from the street. Inside, the interior palette mirrors the exterior restraint—crisp whites, light tones, and warm timbers create a timeless backdrop for everyday living. The kitchen and living spaces form the heart of the home, opening onto an elevated outdoor terrace that extends under the roofline, encouraging seamless indoor-outdoor living. This home is a study in renewal and integration.
